Questions About Therapy

  • The goal of therapy is to promote change. Throughout our work together, we’ll discuss and update specific goals that will cultivate meaning and direction for your growth. Healing is cyclical.

  • Nothing is too strange to bring up in therapy! My job is to hold a therapeutic space (aka a ‘container’) that is non-judgmental, curious, and attune to nervous system activation. I don’t take this responsibility lightly, yet I hope the journey together can have moments of fun. This container will be a place to explore your experience and grow.

  • You probably have a beneficial foundation of self-awareness, this is great! Perhaps you’re looking to deepen your relationship with yourself and others, or perhaps you’ve felt stuck?

I’ve worked with clients who are seeking supportive help to dive deeper in searching for meaning. Some just like a different and more creative approach to therapy.

    Let’s chat!

  • Someone who has never experienced therapy might not know that I don’t give advice as a therapist. This is a common question I get from therapy first-timers during free consultations.

While this might sound confusing, or scary even, I believe you have your own best answers deep within. I’ll help you navigate the process. Imagine cultivating a deeper sense of trust in yourself to make your own informed and resolved decisions!

  • Here are some various approaches we might try, based on your interests:

    -Verbal processing

    -Embodied awareness experiences

-Guided meditation, mindfulness, progressive muscle relaxation

    -Music listening, songwriting, improvisation, storytelling

    -Slowing down, self-soothing, grounding

    -Laughing, crying, playing

    -Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, if appropriate

  • I provide remote teletherapy in New York state. I also have availability for in-person therapy sessions at my office located near Union Square.

  • Yes, I’m in-network with Cigna.

If you have a different plan, check if you have out-of-network (OON) benefits. Here is a list of questions you can ask your insurance provider about your OON benefits:

    1. Does <insurance company> provide OON reimbursement for 45 and 60-minute psychotherapy? (CPT codes 90834 or 90837) *ask about both*

    2. Does <insurance company> reimburse for licensed creative arts therapy (LCAT) sessions?

    3. How much will <insurance company> reimburse for a $175 session?

    4. How do I <that’s you> submit my superbills for claims?

  • $175 is my full fee, and I offer sliding scale options from $75-$175.

Lower fees are dependent on availability of spots.
